Free Spirited

This photo was taken a couple summers ago. My friend Katharina (an au pair from Germany) and I had been swimming in a great swimming hole beneath this covered bridge when the sky started to grumble and a downpour ensued, thunder and lightning included. After seeking cover on this bridge, we decided to not let the rain deter us from having fun. A memory I won't soon forget....

Females and Felines

My lady Kaitlin. We were getting ready to watch a movie with my Aunt Meg and Uncle Mike.

My friend Tia. We had been playing a game of Scrabble when the power went out. The game continued by candlelight.

Rainy, Foggy Day

I tried to take advantage of some rainy weather last week and shot some black and whites. Gloomy days make for good b+w's in my opinion.

Tapping

One of the first signs of spring around here is when people start tapping maple trees to get their sap which will later be boiled down into maple syrup. When I was a kid, I remember my father tapping the trees around our house for this purpose. These photos were taken three years ago at a farm in Hartland, VT. that my good friend Jeremiah worked at. It was my first time using snowshoes and I took a few falls before getting used to them. Ha!

....their sap lines run right through a cemetary. I thought this was pretty humorous.

All for the Promise of Orange Soda

My friend Monica's son Dominic needed a little trim around the ears one night, so my brother Ryan and his fiance Samantha took on the task.
Ryan keeps Dominic still while Samantha does the trimming.

Dominic is rewarded with orange soda after the process.
